Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategic board game designed for a pair of participants. On a square board sized 19×19 (in the classic version) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports iteration), players take turns positioning stones of two distinct colors. The victor is the one who first creates an unbroken sequence of five stones of their color, whether vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. It offers numerous variations, differing in specific aspects of the rules. The game is thought to have originated in China more than two millennia ago. Presently, it is recognized globally; competitive events are organized around it.
